Policies and publishers - the transition to an open scholarly communication landscape

Policy guidelines and initiatives often focus on academic institutions, governing and funding bodies.  However, publishers constitute a substantial stakeholder in the future scholar communication landscape. With policy initiatives like the Council of European Union’s conclusion on High-quality, transparent, open, trustworthy and equitable scholarly publishing as its base, this panel gathers publisher representatives to discuss visions for the future, as well as the collaboration and dialogue between publishers and other scholarly communication stakeholders in the transition to an open scholarly communication landscape. Topics of interest include transparency in scholarly publishing, how to promote a diverse range of open publishing formats, and the harmonization of non-profit and commercial organisations goals within scholarly communication.
