What’s next? Actions for shaping the scholarly communication landscape

The making and consequences of policies and guidelines that address scholarly communication is at the core of the LundOnline conference 2024. This calls for action by all implicated stakeholders to shape the future of scholarly publishing. So, what’s next?

Although we have seen an increase in harmonization on a policy level when it comes to scholarly publishing, stakeholders are many and diverse, as are needs among researchers and research institutions. The notion of open access has become mainstream, but its’ financial, legal, and technical features pull the reality of open access in diverging directions. This panel gathers participants from previous sessions that represent various stakeholders and organizations. It delves into what these stakeholders consider to be the top-priorities to address in scholarly communication in the years to come and what actions they will take; what they expect to be the major differences compared to now and which the forces are that impact their actions in the area of scholarly communication and publishing.
